This 2011 Toyota Tacoma V6 Double Cab 4X4 we tested accompanied a 4.0-liter V6 motor that produces 236 pull and 266 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to a five-speed programmed transmission. At the same time as our instrumented testing, the Tacoma run over from zero to 60 mph in 7.7 favors—somewhat above normal for trucks in this class. The V6 is a breeze to head around town, but this considerably optioned four-wheel-drive model still weighs 4,277 pounds, so its no big surprise that we felt that this motor might utilize somewhat more capacity for getting up slopes or for passing on the interstate.
